The Clinic 3 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in San Felipe Hueyotlipan was robbed early this Tuesday, according to official sources from the hospital. In a statement, the clinic's staff detailed that the criminals broke into the establishment and stole medications. However, it was noted that investigations have already begun to clarify the events, and work is underway to replenish the stolen drugs to continue providing attention to the beneficiaries. The IMSS filed the corresponding complaint with the State Attorney General's Office and will collaborate with the judicial authorities in the investigations to find those responsible for the theft.
Despite the incident, consultation services in the Family Medicine Unit (UMF) continue to be provided without setbacks in the areas not affected by the robbery. In addition, it is guaranteed that medications will be available for beneficiaries in the coming days, with the commitment to continue providing timely and quality care.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Security of the state, Francisco Sánchez González, indicated that the presence of police at these health centers will be reinforced. He commented that the necessary investigations are being conducted in coordination with the municipal government and the Attorney General's Office, which will reinforce operations in these medical centers where medication theft has occurred. He mentioned that, so far, the amount stolen is unknown, but he affirmed that it was 'a significant amount' of controlled medications. Additionally, the criminals stole recording equipment to erase the evidence of their crime.
Local authorities and the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) have begun investigations, but so far, there are no arrests. This incident has caused concern among the local residents, but authorities have assured that the IMSS is taking all necessary measures to ensure the integrity of the facilities and the continuous attention to the population.
