At the Cantera Palace, they have committed to collaborating with the federation to identify polluting companies in a joint effort. In light of the environmental crisis in Nuevo León and accusations aimed at companies like Ternium and the Cadereyta Refinery, the implementation of measures in favor of the environment against smaller-scale companies has been accelerated. According to sources close to the palace, a quarry in El Carmen, N.L. has been the subject of tax alerts and reviews by state authorities.
In relation to this issue, alleged irregularities in local tax payments by companies with a high environmental impact have been detected. It has been pointed out that there is noncompliance in the contribution of environmental taxes related to pollution and the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. Claudia Sheinbaum, the president, had also previously mentioned that local quarries were being monitored for not complying with environmental standards.
The Undersecretary of Tax Administration of Nuevo León has emphasized that companies and quarries may be incurring in tax and environmental irregularities. Through a statement, it was mentioned that these industries are specifically failing in the payment of environmental taxes. So far, 20 quarries that do not comply with environmental regulations have been identified, although they previously paid the "green tax."
It is important to highlight that these actions are being carried out as part of a joint effort between local and federal authorities to address the environmental issues in the region.
