A young girl approximately 16 years old was arrested as the suspected responsible for the homicide of her mother in the Tejeda neighborhood of the municipality of Corregidora, following a shooting attack that also injured the attacker’s brother. The adult woman was found without vital signs and with a gunshot wound, while the minor had injuries from the same incident.
Once the death of the mother was confirmed, authorities reported that the alleged perpetrator was arrested at the same location and referred to the Attorney General's Office of the State. The Specialized Victims Assistance Unit is providing support to the affected family members.
The mayor of Corregidora, Josué Guerrero Trápala, expressed his sorrow over the incident and communicated that the investigations are in the hands of the corresponding judicial body. Local authorities, including the municipal Public Security Secretariat, Civil Protection, and the Attorney General's Office of Querétaro, are collaborating to clarify the circumstances of the tragic incident.
In the mayor's words, he stated: 'I deeply regret what happened in the Tejeda neighborhood. Security elements, emergency services, and the Attorney General's Office are working together to support the victims and clarify the causes of this event.' Support and solidarity to the family members and victims were reiterated.
