
On February 27, various incidents were reported in the Cuauhtémoc, Iztapalapa, and Álvaro Obregón boroughs of Mexico City, where unfortunately several people lost their lives. The Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) has provided relevant information about these events.
In a gym in the Cuauhtémoc borough, authorities detained a possible foreign suspect in possession of a short firearm with a silencer. Meanwhile, in the Centro neighborhood of the same area, an individual was arrested for fatally injuring another with a knife during a fight.
In Iztapalapa, a case was registered where a man was attacked with an ice pick after a dispute with another person in a vulnerable situation, who was detained by the police in the Central de Abasto neighborhood. Additionally, as a result of a citizen report, officers arrested the alleged perpetrator who shot at three people in a house in the Chinam Pac de Juárez neighborhood, who died.
In Álvaro Obregón, a traffic incident was attended to in which a man lost his life due to a cutting injury. The likely attacker was arrested thanks to the testimony of a witness. It is important to highlight that the events of this day are not connected to each other, although at least three of them arose from fights and sharp weapons were used.
The SSC is closely collaborating with the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) in the investigations of all these cases to ensure that those responsible face justice. Regarding the tragic death of two workers from a public health institution on Insurgentes Norte Avenue, the capital police are following the lead of a vehicle seen at the scene and are conducting tracking efforts to assist the Public Ministry in the detention of the aggressors.
