The train service on Line 8 of the Mexico City Metro operates provisionally from Garibaldi to Escuadrón 201, due to work being carried out at the Constitución de 1917 terminal to fully restore the service. It is reported that the trains are running empty towards the stations with higher demand during this operation.
As for Line 9, service is currently being provided from Chabacano to Tacubaya in both directions, with the aid of empty trains to serve the stations with a higher influx of passengers. Efforts are underway to resolve issues and fully restore service on this line, while RTP buses and trucks from various routes assist in transporting users.
The Metro director, Guillermo Calderón, mentioned that due to these circumstances, RTP units are facilitating the transportation of passengers at stations affected by the service disruption. Meanwhile, the Citizen Security Secretariat has implemented an operation to streamline traffic in the affected areas and support passenger transportation, even using patrol cars for this purpose.
Amid these situations, technical problems have been reported that have led to the partial interruption of services on lines 8 and 9 of the Mexico City Metro. It has been mentioned that a short circuit is responsible for these inconveniences. Additionally, videos have been circulated on social media showing passengers being evacuated from trains stopped at different stations.
In an effort to restore normalcy as soon as possible, technical staff continue working on the tracks and affected stations, while it is recommended to take precautions and use alternative means of transportation provided to minimize inconvenience to users.
