On Wednesday, March 5, the driver of a trailer passed away due to a heart attack, causing the vehicle to overturn on the Mexico-Puebla highway. According to data from Federal Roads and Bridges (Capufe), the incident took place at kilometer 95 of the road, near the toll booth heading to Mexico City, in San Martín Texmelucan.
The trailer, which was traveling on the Mexico-Puebla highway, had an accident after the driver suffered a cardiac arrest, losing control and overturning on the road. Witnesses passing through the area notified the authorities, who arrived with Public Security personnel and medical emergency technicians to assist the driver.
Despite the efforts of the paramedics, the driver died at the scene. To remove the damaged vehicle, it was necessary to partially close the roadway, reducing the lanes. Around 10 in the morning, Capufe reported that traffic on the Mexico-Puebla highway was fully restored.
In another incident, nine young people, four women and five men, allegedly students and originally from Tlaxcala, were found dismembered in the municipality of San José Miahuatlán, Puebla, last Sunday. They had been reported missing since February 27, when they traveled to the beaches of Oaxaca.
The Government of Puebla confirmed the discovery of the bodies, but the head of the State Attorney General's Office could not provide details due to confidentiality issues. At a press conference, it was emphasized that all necessary investigations are being conducted and detailed information will be provided when the investigations are concluded.
