This Monday, state and municipal authorities in Veracruz condemned the recent criminal acts that occurred in two different regions due to the explosion of three packages containing aerosol perfumes. These events were recorded in the municipalities of Coatzacoalcos, in the south, and Papantla, in the north of the state, resulting in three injuries.
In Papantla, Veracruz, a white cardboard package was found with a label that indicated "natural perfume." Municipal authorities have released images of the package and indicated that they are working together with ministerial authorities to identify those responsible for these criminal acts.
The governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle García, reported that the State Attorney General's Office is investigating the incidents in Papantla related to the handling of aerosol perfumes, which have caused injuries to citizens in the region. An alert has been issued to the population, and it has been assured that investigations are progressing.
The first case took place on February 26 in Coatzacoalcos, where a man lost a hand while opening an explosive package. Subsequently, two similar incidents occurred in Papantla during the past week and the weekend, causing serious injuries to a woman and a man.
It has been confirmed that authorities have identified the individuals involved in these events, although no arrests have been made so far. The governor mentioned that antisocial behaviors may be related to the youth's environment and substance use, without justifying the violence in any case.
Regarding the possible connection between the incidents in Papantla and the case in Coatzacoalcos, a direct relationship between both events has not yet been confirmed. Investigations are ongoing to clarify these criminal acts that have generated concern among the population of Veracruz.
