
At least 19 people were injured this Tuesday due to an accident on the Mexico-Toluca free highway. The incident occurred at kilometer 16 of the mentioned road, where a trailer without brakes caused a chain collision involving another 10 vehicles.
The crash took place in the morning near Vista Hermosa and the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE). The magnitude of the accident caused traffic in the direction of Mexico City to be blocked for several hours, resulting in significant delays for drivers.
Teams from the SSC CDMX, as well as emergency personnel and civil protection, were dispatched to the scene to assist those affected and restore traffic flow. Fortunately, authorities reported that none of the injured persons suffered serious injuries requiring hospitalization.
According to authorities: "The trailer lost its brakes and caused a pile-up involving another 10 vehicles. None of the individuals sustained serious injuries, so they did not require hospitalization."
