In Teuchitlán, Jalisco, the collective Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco reported the discovery of at least three clandestine crematories with burned and crushed human remains at the Izaguirre ranch. It is believed that this place was used as a training center and extermination camp by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
The CJNG recruited young people through false job offers with attractive salaries posted on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok. The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, mentioned the detection of at least 12 profiles used to contact young people in Jalisco.
President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that the Attorney General's Office will take up the case of the ranch in Teuchitlán. Alejandro Gertz, the Attorney General, emphasized the importance of determining whether it constitutes a federal crime in cases related to organized crime.
In September, the Jalisco Attorney's Office had secured the ranch and arrested ten people, rescuing two hostages. The collective entered on March 5 and noted that the closure seals were broken, finding more skeletal remains and clothing at the site. The deputy attorney's office for missing persons discovered remains showing signs of thermal exposure and various personal belongings, along with casings of different calibers.
