In February and March, as well as during the month of April, severe weather effects of strong winds and a high risk of fires have been recorded due to climate change, according to the governor. These months present a combination of factors such as high temperatures, sudden temperature changes, scarcity of humidity, and strong winds, significantly increasing the danger of forest fires.

"Thank God there were no fatalities due to the fires, and we are handling this situation vigorously at this moment," the governor noted, describing the attitude of those who start fires as "completely intolerable." Some of the arrested arsonists admitted that they carried out their actions for money.

During the weekly Security Table, it was reported that as a result of the arson committed the previous week, 42 arrests have been made, and six individuals are currently in jail. The governor emphasized that March is a month known for being complicated in terms of fires due to weather conditions.

It is stressed that in Nuevo León, starting fires is considered a crime and will be punished. Authorities have begun to take strong measures against those who jeopardize the lives and property of others through intentional fires, including the possibility of imprisonment for this negligent behavior.

The governor also praised the collaboration of municipalities in identifying and detaining suspected arsonists. He highlighted the case of Salinas Victoria, where a neighbor alerted the police upon witnessing individuals setting fire to a vacant lot; these offenders are currently undergoing judicial proceedings. The importance of understanding the causes of fires to prevent future incidents is emphasized.
