Controversy Over Daniel Bisogno's Image Rights

Televisión Azteca registered rights to Daniel Bisogno's image before his death, sparking outrage online. Users criticize the network for allegedly profiting from his legacy.

Controversy Over Daniel Bisogno's Image Rights

At the end of October, Televisión Azteca registered the rights to 'Daniel Bisogno' with the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property through a legal representative. Four months later, in February, Daniel Bisogno passed away at the age of 51 due to complications arising from a liver transplant he underwent the previous September. Pati Chapoy announced the sad news during the program 'Ventaneando', noting Bisogno's passing and highlighting his legacy.

The controversy erupted when it was revealed that TV Azteca had registered the rights to the image and brand 'Daniel Bisogno' months before his death. Internet users harshly criticized the company, accusing it of wanting to recover the money invested in the hospital at the expense of the deceased presenter's image. Comments like "They want to recover the hospital costs," "Dead and still working to pay the bills," and "They are vultures" flooded social media in response to this revelation.

Daniel Bisogno's brother revealed in an interview that TV Azteca had completely covered the hospital debt incurred due to Bisogno's health complications. According to him, the television network's financial support was crucial in facing the medical costs, which amounted to a considerable sum. Despite the controversy, Bisogno remains a figure that generates debate even after his passing, as well as a prominent member in the memory of many.
