A student from Tecmilenio, Las Torres campus, in Nuevo León, identified as Rudy, was allegedly sexually assaulted by five of his classmates. In response to this situation, the state governor, Samuel García, stated that they are in contact with the authorities and school administration to clarify what happened and ensure that if the crime is proven, those responsible will receive appropriate punishment.
Rudy, 16 years old and with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), was beaten and sexually assaulted on March 11 in the bathroom on the third floor of Tecmilenio. After making the complaint public, students held a protest at the school to demand clarity in the case.
During the demonstration, the authorities called for dialogue with students and parents to address the situation. The school's director, Alejandra Preciado, mentioned that so far they did not have a formal complaint regarding the assault on Rudy, but assured that they were following the appropriate protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.
For its part, the Attorney General's Office of Nuevo León reported that agents from the agency visited the school to investigate the reported events. An active investigation file has been initiated, in the process of being integrated, with inquiries carried out by the relevant authorities.
