According to information from the National Forestry Commission (Conafor), 31 wildfires in various forest areas of the country have been successfully extinguished so far. In light of this situation, authorities have urged citizens that, when visiting wooded areas, to refrain from using fire, avoid leaving trash, and, above all, not to throw lit cigarette butts.
In the words of a representative from Conafor: "It's essential that we all collaborate in the prevention of wildfires. A moment of carelessness can have devastating consequences for our natural environment and the biodiversity it hosts."
The wildfire season is a critical time that requires the cooperation and awareness of the entire population. Besides the work of emergency services, the prevention and care of visitors to forests and natural areas are key to avoiding tragedies and protecting our natural heritage.
Given the importance of preserving our forests and ecosystems, it is vital to follow the recommendations of environmental authorities and adopt responsible practices when enjoying nature. Together, we can help protect our natural resources and prevent the loss of thousands of hectares of forests each year due to fires caused by human negligence.
