Health Tips for Safe Holidays

The Health Secretariat has issued a series of tips to enjoy a safe rest during the Holy Week holiday period. Emphasis is placed on the importance of prevention and self-care during these days of rest. Citizens are called to prioritize their well-being by following some recommendations.

Those staying in hotels should familiarize themselves with evacuation routes and safe zones of the location they are in. The importance of not interrupting any medical treatments during the holidays and carrying the necessary medications is highlighted, along with having relevant medical information in case of emergency.

During travel, it is essential to respect traffic regulations and check the mechanical condition of the vehicle. It is recommended to carry a first aid kit and maintain punctuality in taking medications if under treatment.

Among the main recommendations for a safe vacation is to protect oneself from sun exposure, especially between 12:00 and 16:00 hours, when ultraviolet radiation levels are highest. Use of seatbelts is mandatory, and in the case of infants, the importance of using a rear-facing baby carrier is emphasized.

It is essential to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol to reduce the risk of accidents. Upon arrival at the destination, it is advised to respect local authorities' indications and use high SPF sunscreen, light cotton clothing in light colors, a cap or hat, and sunglasses to protect against sun exposure. These measures aim to minimize health and personal safety risks, allowing for a safe and healthy vacation.
