During the current week, extreme temperatures are expected in various regions of Mexico. The lowest minimum temperatures will be recorded in the mountainous areas of Chihuahua and Durango with values between minus 10 and minus 5 degrees. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures of minus 5 to 0 degrees are anticipated in the mountainous areas of Baja California, Sonora, and Zacatecas. In contrast, minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees are expected in areas of Baja California Sur, Michoacán, and the State of Mexico.
Regarding forecasts of heavy rain, it is announced that due to a low-pressure area, intense rains and showers will occur in the states adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico. More than 20 states will experience high temperatures ranging from 35 to 45 degrees throughout the week across the national territory.
Concerning high temperatures, it is forecasted that Michoacán, Morelos, Guerrero, and Oaxaca will register maximum temperatures between 40 and 45 degrees. Meanwhile, other states such as Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, among others, will have temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees. Additionally, recommendations have been issued by the Ministry of Health to prevent heat strokes.
On the other hand, strong gusts of wind are expected in some regions with speeds between 40 and 70 kilometers per hour. Regarding rain, it is expected that Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas will experience heavy rain, while other entities will record showers and intervals of rain throughout the week.
With the arrival of Cold Front 39, the presence of frost is anticipated in mountainous areas of nine states of Mexico, with temperatures that could reach between 5 and -10 degrees during the night and early morning hours. The National Meteorological Service forecasts intense rains due to the interaction of various atmospheric phenomena in Mexican territory. Finally, the population is urged to take the necessary precautions to face the adverse weather conditions that are approaching.
