Hana Ali, 19 years old, councilor of Tourism, Culture, and Sports of the Cabildo of Huajuapan de León, in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, was found dead in her home. The young woman was discovered with gunshot wounds in various parts of her body. Authorities have confirmed her death, although they have not yet identified those responsible for the crime.
Hana, who won the title of 'Miss Sympathy' during the 2024 Expoferia in Huajuapan de León last year, was considered a young woman with a promising future. Her friends, as well as local authorities, have condemned the cowardly act that ended her life and are demanding justice.
"She will be mourned in the Niños Héroes neighborhood," indicated Alexander Osorio, president of the youth Cabildo of Huajuapan de León, remembering Hana as a great ally and friend. He also urged authorities to collaborate in clarifying the crime so that it does not go unpunished.
Meanwhile, the Prosecutor’s Office is conducting investigations to determine the details of this femicide. Tragically, this incident adds to a series of atrocities against women in the region, as from January to April 2025, 21 women have been murdered, including Yesenia and Hana Ali, which represents a concerning reality that remains unresolved regarding gender violence in Mexico.
