The Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, Marath Bolaños, announced from the National Palace the holding of three National Employment Fairs in Mexico. The first will begin on June 9, 2025, followed by others in August and November of the same year. These fairs will be carried out in collaboration with the 32 state governments and will focus on addressing groups in vulnerable situations.
Bolaños also informed that the young people who joined in April will start their training on May 6, with the participation of 80,000 new beneficiaries. These young people will receive a monthly economic support of 8,480 pesos during this year.
The National Employment Fairs will extend throughout Mexican territory, with fairs being held in different states such as Sonora, Chiapas, Tabasco, and others. The Maya Train, a passenger railway project that spans five states in southeastern Mexico, will also be part of the initiatives to generate employment and development in the region.
On another note, the head of Civil Protection, Laura Velázquez, detailed that the First National Drill 2025 will take place next Tuesday, April 29. This drill will include a tsunami alert in several states of Mexico, with the aim of evaluating response procedures in the event of possible natural disasters.
In another matter, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that on Saturday, April 26, she will kick off the cargo wagons of the Maya Train in Puerto Progreso, Yucatán. The investment in this project will allow the modernization of the Modelo Group's breweries and promote the circular economy, among other aspects.
Regarding the controversial reform to the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law, Sheinbaum requested to correct Article 109 to avoid misunderstandings about possible censorship. The president assured that her government's objective is not to censor anyone and thanked the Modelo Group for its investment and support in various projects in Mexico.
