Recall of Fisher-Price Toy Due to Choking Hazard

Recall of Fisher-Price Toy Due to Choking Hazard

The Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) and the company Mattel have issued an alert informing about a possible choking hazard associated with the ‘Brunch & Go Stroller Toy’, model ‘HGB85’, from the Fisher-Price brand, which has led to the withdrawal from the Mexican market of more than 4,000 units.

According to the official statement, the recall affects 4,197 pieces distributed in the country because the tip of the toy egg can break, creating small fragments that pose a danger to babies.

The toy in question, designed to hang from strollers, backpacks, and other baby furniture, contains a fake avocado toast and three accessories: a mirror tomato, wrinkled bacon, and an egg teether, the latter being the problematic component.

Mattel has announced that it will refund the full price of the product to those who purchased it, without requiring proof of purchase, providing more details and the refund process through its official channels.

In addition to the withdrawal from the Mexican market, Mattel will suspend the distribution and sale of this model worldwide. The warning has also been issued in the United States and Canada by their respective consumer product safety agencies.

Profeco has committed to overseeing compliance with the alert and reminded families that they have telephone lines and digital means to receive guidance on this matter.
