This weekend, in the midst of spring and with rising temperatures, rains make their presence felt in Mexico to cool down the environment a bit. The National Water Commission (Conagua) has reported that the weather will be influenced by two cold fronts: number 41 and 42.
Cold front number 41 will extend over northern and northeastern Mexico, causing very strong point rains in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, as well as strong rains in Coahuila and San Luis Potosí. These precipitation events will be accompanied by electrical discharges, hail, and strong wind gusts. Additionally, a decrease in daytime temperatures is expected in these regions. On the other hand, cold front number 42 will enter the north of the Baja California peninsula, causing intervals of showers in that area and rains in other states of the country.
Regarding temperatures, extremes are highlighted: while temperatures of up to -10 degrees Celsius are expected in mountainous areas of Chihuahua and Durango, minimum temperatures of -5 to 0 degrees Celsius with frost are also expected in Sonora, and from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius in high areas of Baja California, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, among others.
In Mexico City, a partially cloudy environment is expected in the morning, with cool to mild temperatures, and a hot environment in the afternoon with a partly cloudy to overcast sky and possible scattered showers. Temperatures will range between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius for minimum and 28 to 30 degrees Celsius for maximum.
