Within the framework of French Healthcare Day 2025, an event that brought together healthcare leaders from France and Mexico, Jorge Daniel, Director of Medical Devices at the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry (CANIFARMA), shared in an exclusive interview for LaSalud.mx his reflections on the significance of this gathering for strengthening international cooperation and technological innovation in the healthcare sector.
The specialist highlighted that the event, organized by the Embassy of France in Mexico and Business France, was distinguished by the quality of its presentations, the depth of the topics addressed, and the opportunity to forge strategic ties with key players in the health ecosystem of both countries.
Jorge Daniel recognized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with France as a strategic partner in research, development, and innovation in medical devices, while also emphasizing the value of multisectoral cooperation to build a more resilient, competitive healthcare system focused on patient well-being.
Karla Báez, Interim Executive Director of the Mexican Association of Research Pharmaceutical Industries (AMIIF), also shared her deep reflections on the role of international collaboration as a driver for investment, innovation, and the transformation of the Mexican healthcare system.
Báez emphasized that Mexico's international relations in the health sector represent a strategic opportunity to attract new investments and foster industrial development, especially in the context of the decree to promote pharmaceutical investment, pushed by the federal government.
This instrument, she noted, aims to strengthen the country's competitiveness by aligning national policies with international commitments and providing legal certainty to multinational companies wishing to invest in Mexico.
During her participation in the French Healthcare Day, organized by the Embassy of France in Mexico and Business France, the AMIIF representative underscored the importance of a permanent dialogue between authorities and the private sector.
This exchange, she said, allows for identifying areas for improvement in regulation and advancing towards a framework more coherent with market needs and global industry standards.
She also highlighted that both national and international industries are committed to contributing to the development of sustainable public policies that prioritize the health of the Mexican population, promote clinical research, and ensure equitable access to innovative treatments.
She also stressed that the forum's format allowed for a frank and open dialogue on shared challenges, the integration of emerging technologies, and the role of the medical device industry in the new global health landscape.
During the event, various panels explored opportunities to enhance knowledge transfer, develop technical capabilities, and invest jointly in innovation.
