The current president of the National Commission on Conventions and Internal Processes of the orange party withdrew from public activities in October 2024, after announcing he would undergo medical treatment for stomach cancer. Delgado was one of the most loudly applauded attendees at the event, which brought together the most prominent figures of MC on a national level: Nuevo León Governor Samuel Garcia, former presidential candidate Jorge Álvarez Máynez, Senator Clemente Castañeda, among others. In an encounter with reporters, he said he “feels good” and confirmed that the cancer he had in his stomach has been removed. He stated that he now only has to regain the weight he lost. Dante Delgado was sporting a beard that was not part of his previous profile. In 2024, he announced that for several years he has undergone constant preventive medical check-ups due to a family history of cancer-related diseases. At the time, Delgado acknowledged the doctors who have accompanied him in the treatment of his illness: Carlos Chan Núñez, Alejandro Alfaro, his work team, Médica Sur Hospital, and all his medical and nursing staff.
