Due to the forecast of rain, cold weather, and gusty winds for today and November 16 and 17, the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), in accordance with the National Weather Service (SMN), calls on the population to stay informed through the official accounts @CNPCmx and @conagua_clima, and to strengthen their self-protection measures.
Cold front number 14, in combination with other atmospheric systems, will generate heavy to very heavy rains, winds of 60 to 70 km/h, and a notable drop in temperature in the areas of Baja California and Sonora. Likewise, the moisture contribution towards the southeast and the Yucatan Peninsula will favor:
Heavy rains in Chiapas and Quintana Roo. Showers in Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, and Yucatan.
The CNPC maintains permanent communication with state and municipal authorities to reinforce the prevention and response tasks required as weather conditions evolve.
Locally, civil protection winter plans have been activated, mainly in mountainous areas where frosts and freezing conditions could occur.
