Two Cold Fronts to Cause Sharp Temperature Drop in Mexico

The National Weather Service (SMN) reported its latest weather forecast for Mexico, where two cold fronts are expected to enter the country, causing low temperatures in the northern part of Mexican territory. The low temperatures will be felt due to both cold fronts on January 3 and 4. In a video posted on the official Conagua Clima account, meteorologist Boris Hernández warned that the first cold front will cause minimum temperatures of up to -15 degrees Celsius with frost in mountainous areas of Durango. The meteorologist also ruled out precipitation during this weekend. On the other hand, he added that showers are expected in states such as Michoacán, Guerrero, and Oaxaca. 'We share our #VideoForecast so that you are informed about the weather conditions that will prevail this weekend.' Temperatures of up to -10°C with frost are also expected in mountainous areas of Chihuahua. Another new cold front will enter the northeast of the country, causing 'unstable weather' in that region, the specialist warned. 'A temperature drop is expected mainly in the mountainous areas of Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas,' Hernández pointed out. While in Mexico City, minimum temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees Celsius and maximums of between 23 and 25 °C are expected.
