On February 27, 2026, the 6th International Symposium for Rare Disease Day will be held. This is a virtual, free, and Spanish-language event aimed at informing, educating, and raising awareness about the challenges faced by people living with rare and little-known diseases in Mexico and Latin America. The event is organized by the Mexican Network of Rare Diseases (ReMexER), the International Laboratory for Human Genome Research at UNAM (LIIGH-UNAM), and the Collaborative for Rare Diseases in the Caribbean and Latin America (CEPCAL). Specialists and representatives from patient organizations will participate. The symposium integrates scientific knowledge, clinical experience, and the voices of patients and caregivers, highlighting that regional collaboration is key to advancing timely diagnosis, comprehensive care, and health rights. "With science, empathy, and joint work, it is possible to transform the reality of Rare Diseases."
