The state-owned company announced plans for water infrastructure modernization. Luis Alberto Vega Ricoy, Executive Commissioner of the State Water Commission, reported that an investment of 750 million pesos is planned for 2026 for the construction and modernization of facilities in various municipalities. Key projects include a water treatment plant in Casas Viejas, Tolimán, which is 50% complete, and the expansion of the plant in Jalpan de Serra. Work is also underway in Pinal de Amoles and Peñamiller. The leadership aims to complete all projects this year. Ahead of Holy Week, Vega Ricoy called on citizens to save water, especially on Holy Saturday, stating that water waste should not be a tradition and can be penalized. He noted that in recent years, there has been a decrease in wasteful behavior and an increase in public awareness.
