A baby was abandoned on Avenida Nacional in the town of Santo Tomás Chiconautla. The Ecatepec Police detained a woman during their crime prevention patrols. The infant was taken to the Las Américas hospital, where he received pediatric care. During these patrols, they also found a crash involving a couple who were disturbing the order and had hit other vehicles.
‘I abandoned the baby, but I didn't know... in a plastic bag. I was there and I saw the paramedics arrive, I was watching when they took him, my son was about to turn four months old,’ she declared to the municipal police.
The woman was presented to the Public Ministry and subsequently transferred to the Chiconautla prison, in compliance with an arrest warrant for the abandonment of the baby. Following a citizen's complaint, Civil Protection, Fire and Urban Rescue personnel, and Ecatepec police rescued the baby who had been abandoned in a public place. The minor was wearing a yellow pants and shirt set, as well as a t-shirt, a diaper, and socks. After being examined, it was reported that he had no injuries and was in stable vital condition.
