The Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, reported on the satisfactory progress in the registration of the Women Welfare Pension, a program aimed at recognizing the work of women in caring for their families and promoting their economic independence. So far, 704,947 people aged 63 and 64 have come to register at the 2,600 Welfare modules distributed across the country.
During the press conference 'The Morning Mañaneras of the People' led by President Claudia Sheinbaum at the National Palace, Secretary Montiel Reyes recalled that registration for the pension began on October 7, thus fulfilling the commitment of the President of Mexico. The registration process will continue until November, and in January, women aged 63 to 64 will receive a pension of three thousand pesos bimonthly directly, without intermediaries, through the Banco del Bienestar card.
In relation to the House-to-House Health program, since October 7, 18,851 national servers have visited 568,896 beneficiaries of the Pensions for the Well-being of Older Adults and People with Disabilities. A health questionnaire was applied during these visits, which will continue until December.
It is planned to hire 22,496 women and men from the health sector to conduct personalized and periodic visits to the elderly and disabled starting in February. These professionals will deliver health cards, provide primary care at homes, follow up on health status, and provide links to other levels of health care. The hiring of staff will begin on October 21 and will remain open until November 15 at the Welfare Modules, the locations of which can be consulted on the official website of the Secretary of Welfare.
