
A low-pressure zone is moving along the southern coasts of Guerrero and Michoacán, following the passage of Hurricane John. This zone could develop into a tropical cyclone, bringing conditions of heavy to torrential rains in several regions of Mexico on October 21. Additionally, Cold Front number 5 is expected to extend over the northern border of the country, accompanied by strong winds with dust storms in the northwest and north of Mexico.
Regarding the cold weather forecast, minimum temperatures are expected to range from -5 to 0°C in mountainous areas of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Durango, as well as from 0 to 5°C in mountainous areas of Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Oaxaca, and Veracruz. On the other hand, heat is forecasted in some areas of the country, with maximum temperatures of 35 to 40°C in Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Nayarit, and from 30 to 35°C in other entities such as Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Colima, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Chiapas, Yucatán, and Campeche.
As for the rains, torrential rains are expected in different regions of the country. There will be isolated rains in Chihuahua and showers in Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Nayarit, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos, Tlaxcala, and Yucatán. The states where the most intense downpours will be recorded are Puebla, Veracruz, and Oaxaca with heavy rains, followed by San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Guerrero, Chiapas, and Tabasco with very strong rains. Additionally, heavy rains are expected in Tamaulipas, Querétaro, and Campeche, and showers with intensity in Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guanajuato, and Quintana Roo.
