According to reports from the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC), some states in Mexico will experience varied climatic conditions in the coming days. In particular, heavy rains are expected in Chiapas, Oaxaca, Tabasco, and Veracruz, while showers will affect Campeche, Colima, Durango, the State of Mexico, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, and Yucatán.
Regarding temperatures, it is expected that some areas of Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Puebla, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, and Zacatecas will register between zero and five degrees at dawn. On the other hand, mountainous areas of Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango, and Sonora could reach temperatures of minus five to zero degrees.
These climatic conditions are attributed to various factors, such as the influence of Hurricane Kristy, the presence of low-pressure channels over the country, upper atmospheric instability, the influx of moisture from the coasts, and the subtropical jet stream. In contrast, high maximum temperatures are expected in the afternoon in some regions of the country.
For Wednesday, isolated rains are forecasted in Mexico City, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, and Querétaro. Tuesday night was cool in the Mexican capital with partially cloudy skies, while Wednesday morning was reported to be cold in the higher areas of the city and cool in the rest.
