Water Supply Cut in 11 Municipalities of Edomex

On Friday, October 25, various neighborhoods in at least 11 municipalities in the State of Mexico (Edomex) will be affected by a lack of drinking water due to repair work on the Distribution Macrocircuit of the Cutzamala System. The Water Commission of the State of Mexico (CAEM) has assured that they will work efficiently to minimize wait times and restore service as soon as possible.

According to the Ministry of Water of the State of Mexico (SAGUA) and the CAEM, this work is necessary to repair a leak detected in the municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza. The leak will require a total suspension of the flow that supplies both the Bellavista tank and the Madín II Water Treatment Plant. Water service interruption will begin at midnight on Friday and is estimated to last around 18 hours, supposedly concluding in the late evening of the same day.

The municipalities affected by this cut will be Acolman, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Coacalco, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Ecatepec, Naucalpan, Nezahualcóyotl, Nicolás Romero, Tecámac, Tlalnepantla, and Tultitlán. In light of this situation, the CAEM has urged the population to take preventive measures and to prepare for the lack of water. Residents are advised to fill containers and take precautions to ensure they have enough water to meet their needs during the cut. Authorities also suggest making reasonable use of the available water before the suspension.

These repairs are vital for the maintenance of the hydraulic infrastructure of Edomex, which faces significant challenges in the distribution and supply of drinking water.
