The municipal president, Chepe Guerrero, inaugurated the Municipal Animal Care Institute in La Negreta on May 15. This new Institute will offer a variety of services from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, including sterilization campaigns, vaccinations, deworming, general and specialized consultations, as well as a permanent adoption campaign and education on animal care.
Carlos Jiménez Rodríguez, secretary of Municipal Public Services, emphasized that 70% of families in Corregidora have at least one pet. He committed to providing quality services that meet the necessary standards to ensure the well-being of animals.
Eduardo Ocram García López, director of the Institute, reported that so far this year, 1,089 sterilizations have been performed, 1,755 rabies vaccine doses have been administered, and 1,563 general consultations have been provided. López highlighted the importance of combating animal abuse to promote social peace.
At the event, Guerrero stressed the collaboration between citizens and animal advocates. Working tables have been held with activists dedicated to giving a voice to animals and generating public policies that raise awareness about pet care.
To strengthen these actions for the benefit of animals, the first Croquetón 2024 was launched, a campaign that aims to collect 15 tons of food for dogs and cats. Donation points are located at the Municipal Attention Center (CAM), CAM Candiles, and at the new Municipal Animal Care Institute, located at Prolongación Azucenas s/n corner.
