Temperature and Rainfall Drops Predicted in Mexico

During this week, the weather will present significant variations in Mexico. A tropical wave will cause rain with strong wind gusts in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec and may generate snowfall on the Popocatépetl, Iztaccíhuatl, and Pico de Orizaba volcanoes. This disturbance will dissipate on Monday, but a new tropical wave is expected to arrive in Quintana Roo, bringing rain with lightning in the Yucatán Peninsula.

Additionally, a new cold front is approaching the northwest of the country, which will interact with polar and subtropical jet streams, causing a drop in temperature with wind gusts and dust storms in several regions, including Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Coahuila. On the other hand, an anticyclonic circulation at mid-levels will maintain a warm environment in Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Nayarit, with temperatures reaching between 35 and 40 °C.

On Monday, minimum temperatures are expected to range from -5 to 0 degrees with frost in mountainous areas of several states, including Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango, State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, and Puebla. For Tuesday, similar temperatures are forecasted in these areas, as well as minimums of 0 to 5 degrees in other regions such as Sonora, Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, and more.

In summary, changing weather conditions are anticipated, from intense cold with chances of snow in some areas to warm weather with high temperatures in others. The population is advised to stay informed and take the necessary precautions to face these abrupt changes in the weather.
