New Traffic Restrictions under Hoy No Circula Program

Today, October 29, the Hoy No Circula program applies to vehicles with pink stickers whose last digits of the license plate are 7 or 8. In addition, they have circulation restrictions on the first and third Saturday if they have hologram 1 and the plate ends in an odd number. Vehicles with hologram 2 rest every Saturday from 05:00 to 22:00, except for holograms 0 and 00.

As for foreign vehicles with foreign plates, they must limit their circulation according to the last digit of the plate from Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 11:00 and on Saturdays from 05:00 to 22:00. This program affects municipalities in the State of Mexico and 16 boroughs of Mexico City.

To evade Hoy No Circula, if a driver does not reside in Mexico City or municipalities in the State of Mexico where it applies but needs to travel for a special situation such as a medical appointment in the hospitals of the Valley of Mexico, they can request a permit. This document allows them to circulate without restrictions on the indicated days, according to the procedures established by the Ministry of the Environment (Sedema).
