During maintenance work on the Metro of Mexico City, an auxiliary police officer from the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) died after being run over by a maintenance vehicle, known as 'Metro Bebé', near the Acatitla station on Line A. The victim was identified as Fernando Madrid Espinoza, 40 years old, assigned to that station.
The events occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, October 29, while the officer was conducting patrol work to prevent cable theft on the tracks. The Metro is cooperating with the Attorney General's Office in the relevant investigations." The operation of the vehicle during the incident is still under investigation.
