Profeco Calls for Recall of Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche Vehicles

The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) has issued a recall for owners of certain models of vehicles from the brands Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche due to faults in the units. This action has been taken in coordination with Volkswagen de México and affects owners of 20 Volkswagen vehicles (2024 models of Virtus and Taigun), 86 Audi RS E-Tron GT cars from 2022-2024, and eight Porsche Carrera GT vehicles from 2004-2005. So far, no accidents have been reported as a result of these faults.

In the case of Volkswagen vehicles, the recall affects the owners of 20 cars from the 2024 models of Virtus and Taigun. A possible fault has been identified in the front left and right cross members due to incorrect welding that could fracture, causing loss of control and stability of the vehicle. Volkswagen will contact users to schedule the necessary inspections and repairs.

On the other hand, regarding Audi, warnings have been issued about faults in the braking system of the RS E-Tron GT cars from 2022-2024. There is a possibility of cracks occurring in the front axle brake hoses, which could lead to brake circuit failure and reduce the vehicle's braking capacity. The company will contact the owners for the necessary inspections.

Regarding Porsche, a potential risk has been identified in the fixation bolts of the longitudinal and transverse arms mounted on the chassis of some vehicles. These bolts could break due to corrosion, which would limit handling capabilities and increase the risk of accidents. Porsche will replace the affected components with new, more durable parts.

It is important for owners of the mentioned vehicles to pay attention to the recalls from their respective brands and attend the recommended inspections to ensure driving safety.
