
In Mexico City, police from the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) arrested a taxi driver involved in an accident in which a man lost his life and two women were injured. The incident occurred in the Cuajimalpa borough and was caused by the driver's reckless maneuver as he attempted to turn back from the far-right lane.
According to reports, after colliding with a motorcycle carrying three people, the taxi driver fled the scene. However, through a virtual fence, authorities managed to locate him to answer for the young man's death.
At the accident site, officers found the deceased man in the vehicular lane next to a motorcycle. Witnesses indicated that the perpetrator was a taxi driver who had fled. Paramedics certified that the 29-year-old man died due to a traumatic brain injury.
After receiving the location of the involved taxi, the police were able to catch up to the driver, a 68-year-old man, who was read his rights and presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office. As for the two women who were injured, they were taken to a hospital for specialized medical care.
The Attorney General's Office of Mexico City will determine the legal situation of the arrested driver while the corresponding investigation is carried out to clarify the events.
