The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has announced the implementation of the National Care System by early 2025. Sheinbaum mentioned that IMSS will start the Early Childhood Care Centers in Ciudad Juárez next year, emphasizing the importance of supporting women in diversifying their roles.

Sheinbaum highlighted that Mexico already has programs related to the National Care System, such as the Universal Pension for the Elderly, which provides a bimonthly financial support of 6,000 pesos. The president stressed the need for the State to provide conditions that allow women to engage in other activities if they wish, and to ensure that they can trust their loved ones will receive appropriate care in their absence.

In this regard, Sheinbaum emphasized: "We do not believe that duty is correct, everyone must participate in caregiving; but many times care has fallen on women, so the state must provide the conditions for women to engage in other tasks if they wish." The president pointed out the importance of building a solid national system that integrates all actions related to care and provides resources to childcare and early education centers in the country.
