
The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, promised to protect her citizens living in the United States, similar to how Donald Trump returns to the White House in connection with his plans for mass deportation of illegal migrants. Sheinbaum, without directly mentioning the stated plans of the next American president for the deportation of illegals, including millions of Mexicans. "In this new period, starting tomorrow with President Trump, in the first place, we will protect Mexicans there," she stated during a public event in Puebla state in the center of the country.
The next day after Trump's inauguration, Sheinbaum expressed her congratulations to the President of the United States and emphasized the importance of dialogue, respect, and cooperation between the two countries. She also communicated that the Mexican government is actively responding to the measures that the new U.S. administration will implement.
During a press conference, Sheinbaum noted that it was held in conjunction with members of her government at the National Palace after Trump's speech, where he confirmed the introduction of a state of emergency at the border and plans to grant cards to undocumented migrants, as well as to reassign the Mexican Gulf to American authorities.
