The plan "Mexico Embraces You," designed to help repatriated nationals due to immigration measures in the United States, aims to ensure a dignified transition and a safe return for affected Mexicans. As part of this plan, access to various government social programs will be provided, as well as an initial economic aid of 2,000 pesos for those returning to their places of origin.
The Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, explained that the Government of Mexico has a comprehensive plan to address repatriations, offering access to welfare programs and support for nationals returning to the country. Measures and protocols have been established to be executed by different government agencies, such as providing transportation to places of origin, basic services, and identification documents.
Additionally, repatriated individuals will be integrated into social programs such as pensions for the elderly, support for people with disabilities, assistance for working mothers, and the Sembrando Vida program. The Secretariat of Welfare will be responsible for creating a favorable environment to meet the needs of repatriates, and collaborations with international organizations have been established to ensure the protection of their rights.
The Government of Mexico is coordinating with the National Human Rights Commission and the Business Coordinating Council to facilitate the labor reintegration of returning nationals. The president, Claudia Sheinbaum, emphasized the importance of this comprehensive plan to welcome repatriates and reiterated the Mexican government's commitment to protect its nationals, offering support both in the United States and in Mexico.
