The National Action Party Parliamentary Group presented an initiative to strengthen the capacities of states and municipalities in response to the potential mass deportation of migrants, not only Mexicans but also from various nations in Central and South America. According to the coordinator of the PAN Parliamentary Group, Guadalupe Murgía Gutiérrez, the primary objective is to protect the integrity and rights of migrants and to enable local authorities to have temporary shelters and adequate health, nutrition, and security conditions to address this challenge.
In addition to guaranteeing these basic conditions, the initiative seeks to promote productive projects and job opportunities to facilitate the integration of migrants into society. In this sense, they propose the creation of a specific Fund in the Federal Expenditure Budget with the purpose of providing states and municipalities with the necessary resources to address a potential migration crisis.
In a message, the senator from Querétaro emphasized the importance of the Federation, states, and municipalities working in a coordinated manner to confront these new challenges and provide humanitarian conditions for migrant people. In the words of Guadalupe Murgía Gutiérrez: "We propose the creation of a specific Fund in the Federal Expenditure Budget, so that states and municipalities have resources to address the migration crisis that may arise."
This proposal responds to President Trump's statements on the migratory issue and indicates the need to prepare to face possible scenarios related to the mass deportation of migrants. The initiative aims to foresee and act proactively in this situation, with the clear goal of ensuring respect for the rights and dignity of migrant people, regardless of their nationality.
