The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, revealed during her morning press conference that the Secretariat of Foreign Relations, under the direction of Chancellor Juan Ramón de la Fuente, led an official meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The meeting took place in a context of tensions and decrees signed by President Donald Trump, including threats such as mass deportations, tariffs, and even a possible military intervention against drug trafficking.

Sheinbaum described the dialogue as "a very good conversation, very cordial," highlighting that it was Rubio's first official communication in his new position. Topics related to migration and security were discussed, marking the start of these conversations a day after Trump's inauguration.

In response to the deportation raids in the United States, the president announced the establishment of support centers at the northern border of Mexico and reassured the population by noting that there were fewer returns of Mexicans from the United States compared to previous days.

From the National Palace, Sheinbaum denied some beliefs generated by the signing of decrees by the new U.S. president in his first hours in office. She emphasized the importance of maintaining calm and analyzing the decrees based on their legal scope, beyond political discourse.
