The Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo managed to arrest Arturo “N”, a presumed leader of a kidnapping gang operating in Cancun. The capture took place at the International Airport of Mexico City, as the individual was attempting to evade authorities by taking international flights.
The detention involved the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the National Anti-Kidnapping Coordination (CONASE), and the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of Mexico City. According to authorities, Arturo “N” is considered a priority target of the State Criminal Atlas for leading a criminal group dedicated to robbery and kidnapping in Benito Juárez.
Investigations revealed that Arturo “N” traveled from the United States to Cancun on December 22 of last year, then moved to Querétaro and took a flight to Panama on January 5 of this year. Subsequently, he headed to the Bahamas and on January 20 traveled to Mexico City from Panama, where he was arrested by the authorities and transferred to Quintana Roo.
After the capture, Arturo “N” was admitted to the Social Reinsertion Center of Benito Juárez and is at the disposal of the relevant authorities. Meanwhile, a member of the same gang led by Arturo “N”, identified as José Adolfo “N”, was arrested in October of last year and accused of participating in kidnapping and express kidnapping crimes.
