The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, expressed her support for businessman Carlos Slim, the richest man in the country, amid a publication shared by magnate Elon Musk, which suggested supposed links between Slim and drug cartels. Sheinbaum called it "completely false" that Slim is related to drug trafficking, noting that there are no investigations against him either in the Mexican authorities or in other countries. The president warned about the spread of false information and the need to seek the truth rather than liking unfounded posts.

In a morning conference, Sheinbaum rejected the allegations against Carlos Slim, arguing that "there is no investigation against businessman Carlos Slim or his companies." She also emphasized the importance of not associating Mexico with the issue of drug trafficking, highlighting the cultural wealth and solidarity of families and communities in the country. The president stressed that Mexico's security strategy will yield results despite pressures from Donald Trump regarding Mexican cartels and tariffs on drugs and migrants.

Sheinbaum also pointed out the futility of declaring cartels as terrorist entities, calling for greater coordination between the United States and Mexico. Regarding Musk's post, the president rejected the narrative suggesting links between Slim and drug trafficking, warning that such messages are part of stereotypes associated with American series on the subject. Sheinbaum reiterated the importance of not promoting false information on social media and highlighted the contributions of legitimate and positive investments by entrepreneurs in Mexico.
