The former governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, is facing a new accusation of attempted rape against his half-sister, Nidia Fabiola. The complaint was filed at the end of last year at the Morelos Attorney General's Office, where an investigation was opened for attempted rape. Rodrigo Dorantes, the young woman's lawyer, indicated that the attempted rape allegedly occurred at the end of 2023 and that there were subsequent harassments, prompting the woman to file the complaint.
"Nidia Fabiola fears for her physical integrity after having reported it, as both she and her father receive threats from the former soccer player and other relatives," explained Dorantes. The threats have been both direct and by phone, according to the lawyer. There is an expectation that the Morena deputies will proceed with the removal of Cuauhtémoc Blanco's immunity so that the accusations against him can be investigated.
Cuauhtémoc Blanco, former governor of Morelos, faces accusations of corruption during his administration, as well as for the increase in violence in the state. The current governor of Morelos, Margarita González, has filed four complaints against him. Additionally, he is accused of entering politics through an alleged payment of 7 million pesos.
Journalist Raymundo Riva Palacio detailed that Blanco left the position to José Manuel Sanz, his chief of staff, who is also being investigated for money laundering. Riva Palacio mentioned that violence in Morelos increased during Blanco's term due to incompetence in security matters. The presence of various cartels in the region intensified during that period, including the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Comando Tlahuica, Guerreros Unidos, La Familia Michoacana, and the Unión Tepito Cartel.
