"Yesterday we woke up to the news that the LatinUS TikTok account was deleted, it disappeared. This happens amid a heated debate about freedom of expression in the United States," expressed the Mexican journalist.
Loret de Mola detailed that TikTok has faced problems since the administration of Joe Biden, who expressed concerns about possible espionage intentions by China through the social network, which led to attempts to ban it. The journalist directly pointed to Elon Musk as the figure behind the conflicts surrounding the artificial intelligence megaproject Stargate in the United States, valued at 500 billion dollars and backed by companies like SoftBank, Microsoft, and OpenAI.
On January 19, 2025, TikTok was temporarily blocked, but under Donald Trump's second term, it was reactivated on the condition of ceding part of its control to an American mogul, a role that it is speculated Elon Musk might be interested in assuming.
