Erik Rauda, former lawyer of 'Fofo' Márquez, has expressed his discontent with the sentence that the content creator received, not due to the outcome itself, but because of the actions of the current defense. Rauda mentioned that he left the case not because of the guilty verdict, but because his strategy did not align with what 'Fofo's' family was seeking.
Last November, when 'Fofo' Márquez rejected a plea deal, it became known that Erik Rauda stopped legally representing the influencer, as the family was not fully on board with his approach. Rauda explained that the decision to leave the case was made jointly with the family and due to differences in the method to be followed. According to the lawyer, the family chose to take the case to trial, which led to a conviction instead of pursuing a different strategy.
After the rejection of the plea deal, 'Fofo' Márquez's new defense presented the family with a scenario where the outcome could be quicker, leading to the termination of the employment relationship with Rauda. Nearly a year after the events, 'Fofo' Márquez was found guilty of attempted femicide, and the sentencing is expected, which could involve between 13 and 48 years in prison, depending on the judicial decision.
On his social media, Erik Rauda expressed his discontent with the current defense's performance for 'Fofo' Márquez, pointing out that they misled the family with impossible promises. Rauda had proposed a strategy that sought to reclassify the crime, but this option involved a process that would take several months, during which 'Fofo' would remain in pretrial detention. He mentioned that the difference in legal tactics was the main reason he decided to leave the case.
