David Faitelson in the eye of the hurricane again

Sports journalist David Faitelson has once again become the center of media attention due to statements made by Álvaro Morales, who claimed that Faitelson could end up in jail following the arrest of a former Cruz Azul executive, Guillermo N. This insinuation occurred during a broadcast of Futbol Picante, where Morales mocked Faitelson, calling him "Billy Álvarez's canary" and suggesting that his situation could lead him to prison.

The differences between Faitelson and Morales go back a long time, when both worked together at ESPN and never maintained a friendly relationship, something that has been publicly known. Morales consistently throws indirect jabs at Faitelson, as happened during the coverage of Apertura 2024, where he referred to an unfriendly gesture from Cuauhtémoc Blanco towards Faitelson during a broadcast on TUDN.

At another moment, Morales recalled an interview that Faitelson conducted with Billy Álvarez, former president of Cruz Azul, while he was a fugitive from justice. On that occasion, Morales suggested that the investigation into Álvarez could lead Faitelson to jail, in a mocking tone and constant confrontation towards the ESPN analyst. These situations demonstrate the ongoing tension between both figures in the sports and media arena.
