72 Bodies Found in Clandestine Graves in Chihuahua

The Chihuahua Prosecutor's Office reported the discovery of 72 bodies in clandestine graves in the municipality of Casas Grandes. The remains were found in an area known as 'El Willy', in the Ejido Ignacio Zaragoza. The location was identified after the detention of Pablo 'M' 'R', alias 'El Peluchín', who reportedly provided crucial information to federal authorities.

It is estimated that there are at least 46 graves at the site, which, according to the state prosecutor's investigations, may have been used by members of the La Línea cartel to conceal bodies and eliminate incriminating evidence. The potential victims could be individuals who confronted the cartel, people affected by extortion and kidnapping incidents. However, the forensic investigation will be responsible for confirming the identities of the deceased.

In the words of the state prosecutor's office: 'This is a finding that reflects the extreme violence experienced in the region due to the presence of criminal groups. This discovery will allow us to continue working to bring those responsible for these heinous crimes to justice.'
