The son of the leader of the Mothers Searchers of Caborca, Valentín Franco Canastillo, 17 years old, was arrested for the crime of criminal association for belonging to Los Deltas, the armed wing of Los Chapitos in Sonora. He was also pointed out as one of those responsible for the murder of 10 people.
The mother of the "hitman boy", Magdalena Canastillo Figueroa, has not made any comment or published anything on her social media, despite being very active due to her altruistic actions in the search for missing persons. The leader of the Mothers Searchers is the widow of the alleged drug trafficker Adán Franco Pérez, alias El Cholo Adán, who died after being a victim of an armed attack in Caborca more than a year ago.
It is worth noting that the minor was captured along with 10 other members of the same criminal cell, including José Enrique Padilla, alias Kike Padilla, the current leader of Los Deltas and Los Pelones, who operated in Caborca-Altar. Los Deltas would be behind the homicide of 10 people.
This Monday, in an interview with El Financiero, Alberto Flores, commissioner of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC), said that the detainees were possibly involved in the homicides of 10 people, bodies that were found last Friday in a desolate area of Caborca, 2.5 kilometers from the city.
Although 10 bodies were found in that municipality, he did not rule out that there could be more, as he confirmed that there are human remains (in varying stages of decomposition) that require forensic analysis to determine the identity of the deceased. Flores added that the remains are a little over a week old since they were murdered.
The arrest of Los Deltas took place in the vicinity of the Niños Héroes neighborhood, in the municipality of Caborca, where the detainees were confiscated with 10 rifles, 10 exclusive-use firearm magazines, and 248 useful cartridges, reported the State Security Council of Sonora.
Alberto Flores stated that among the detainees is a young man who "lives in a complicated environment" and added that the father was killed in May 2024, a fact related to El Duranguillo, former leader of Gente Nueva. Subsequently, and unofficially, El Financiero confirmed that the individual referred to by the AMIC commissioner was the minor son of the leader of the Mothers Searchers of Caborca, Valentín Franco.
Juan Manuel “N”, Jonson “N”, Juan Carlos “N”, Fermín Andrés “N”, Sergio Martín “N”, Ismael “N”, Christian Antonio “N”, Abraham “N”, and Ángel “N” were the other detainees captured along with the leader of the Caborca Cartel and the son of Magdalena Figueroa.
