Controversy Over Gender Identity Comments

Polo Morín criticized Eduardo Verástegui on Twitter for his derogatory comments towards trans women, particularly targeting Karla Sofía Gascón's Oscar nomination. Morín questions Verástegui's obsession with others' genitalia and highlights his hypocrisy regarding traditional family values.

Controversy Over Gender Identity Comments

Actor Polo Morín expressed his doubts about the activism of Eduardo Verástegui, stating that he is supposedly "too preoccupied with the genitalia of others." On January 25, 2025, Polo published a post in which he criticized the former actor and religious politician Eduardo Verástegui, accusing him of attacks on Carla Sofia Gaskon, the first transgender woman nominated for an Oscar in the "Best Actress" category.

"I observe male defenders who take women's places and call themselves 'feminists' and 'progressives.' They do not protect women; they protect ideology. No matter what you 'found the world in God,' I see you very selfish and unreasonable... You are too obsessed with the genitalia of other people, aren't you?" Polo Morín pointed out.

Eduardo Verástegui often expresses his disapproval of members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly towards transgender individuals, and generally. Eduardo often attacks them, many users believe that this way he is trying to remain in the center of attention. Others ask why he often attacks others on religious issues, regardless of the fact that he is a single man and does not have children, although he appeals to the 'respect' of the traditional 'family model.'

While Eduardo Verástegui has not responded to Polo Morín's post, Polo has also not commented further on this question. This is not the first case when Eduardo attacks a transgender person. Before starting to discuss Carla Sofia Gaskon, Eduardo had already 'attacked' Wendy Gueva, insisting that she is not a woman because she has male genitals.
